  1. 1. Ground Movements in the Zagros Fold-Thrust Belt of SW Iran Measured by GPS and InSAR Compared to Physical Models

    Author : Faramarz Nilfouroushan; Christopher Talbot; Hemin Koyi; Christophe Vigny; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; Zagros fold-thrust belt; deformation; GPS; InSAR; Physical modeling; tectonics; convergent settings; basal friction; Geovetenskap;

    Abstract : This thesis uses geodetic satellite data to measure present-day crustal deformation in the Zagros fold-thrust belt (SW Iran). Geodetic-type measurements are also used in down-scaled models that simulate the surface deformations seen in convergent settings like the Zagros fold-thrust belt. READ MORE

  2. 2. Study on the Earth’s Surface Mass Variations using Satellite Gravimetry Observations

    Author : Hadi Amin; Mohammad Bagherbandi; Lars Sjöberg; Faramarz Nilfouroushan; Martin Horwath; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; geodetic reference system; geoid potential; global vertical datum; climate change; global warming; mass change; ice melting; sea-level change; remote sensing; satellite gravimetry; geodetiska referenssystem; geopotential; globala vertikala datum; klimatförändring; global uppvärmning; massförändring; issmältning; havsnivåförändring; fjärranalys; satellitgravimetri;

    Abstract : Our complex planet is continuously undergoing temporal and spatial changes. In this context, ongoing processes in the Earth subsystems (geosphere, biosphere, cryosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere) cause changes in the gravity field of the Earth across a wide range of temporal and spatial scales. 3. 3. Monitoring lithospheric motions by Satellite geodesy

    Author : Nureldin A. A. Gido; Mohammad Bagherbandi; Lars E. Sjöberg; Faramarz Nilfouroushan; Hossein Nahavandchi; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geodesi; Geodesy;

    Abstract : Understanding of global and local Earth’s dynamic processes is of great importance to the Earth’s system knowledge, human life, and sustainability goals (e.g. climatic change and geo-hazard assessment, etc.). READ MORE
