    Abstract : In this work, the solubility of butyl paraben in 7 pure solvents and in 5 different ethanol-water mixtures has been determined from 1 ˚C to 50 ˚C. The solubility of ethyl paraben and propyl paraben in various solvents has been determined at 10 ˚C. READ MORE

  4. 4. Investigation of the functionality related characteristics of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose for the release from matrix tablets

    University dissertation from Gothenburg : Chalmers tekniska högskola

    Author : Anna Viridén; [2011]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; batch-to-batch variation; heterogeneous; hydroxypropyl methylcellulose; drug release; hydrophilic matrix tablets; polymer characterisation; functionality related characteristics;

    Abstract : Hydrophilic matrix tablets are a compressed well mixed composite of drug substance and excipients including a hydrophilic polymer. When the tablet comes in contact with biological fluids, the hydrophilic polymer starts to dissolve, a process that decreases the water penetration through the tablet and involves dimensional changes of the tablet due to swelling of the solvated polymers.
