  1. 16. Design, Synthesis and Thermodynamic Studies of Galectin Ligands

    Author : Maria Luisa Verteramo; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; galectin; conformational entropy; solvation; thermodynamic; interaction; molecular recognition; thiodigalactoside; diastereomer; structure-based design;

    Abstract : The signaling within and between cells in biology is governed by molecular recognition between natural or synthetic ligands and proteins. This thesis project aimed to investigate the thermodynamic properties of specific interaction between synthetic ligands and galectin proteins. READ MORE

  2. 17. Palladium(II)-Catalysed Heck and Addition Reactions : Exploring Decarboxylative and Desulfitative Processes

    Author : Bobo Skillinghaug; Mats Larhed; Antonio de la Hoz Ayuso; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Palladium; catalysis; palladium II catalysis; synthesis; Heck; carboxylic acid; sulfinic acid; sodium sulfinate; nitrile; styrene; ketone; aryl ketone; electrospray ionization mass spectrometry; density functional theory; microwave heating; continuous flow; Chemistry with specialization in Organic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Palladium complexes have the ability to catalyse cross-coupling of two organic moieties through the formation of transient metal-carbon bonds, thus bringing them closer to each other to facilitate the formation of a new bond. Palladium-catalysed coupling reactions are one of the most important carbon-carbon forming reactions available to organic chemists and many of these reactions rely on the reactivity of aryl-palladium complexes. 3. 18. Palladium-Catalysed Couplings in Organic Synthesis : Exploring Catalyst-Presenting Strategies and Medicinal Chemistry Applications

    Author : Alejandro Trejos; Mats Larhed; Jianliang Xiao; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : A new kind of lipid/polymer composite particle, consisting of a biodegradable polymer matrix with well-defined lipid domains, has been created. The lipid used is the water-swelling lipid monoolein (MO), which forms a reversed bicontinuous cubic diamond structure in aqueous solutions. READ MORE
