  1. 1. Microfluidics Separation and Analysis of Biological Particles

    Author : Jason Beech; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Point-of-care; Lab-on-a-chip; Microfluidics; Separation science; Deterministic Lateral Displacement; morphology; deformability; Fysicumarkivet A:2011:Beech;

    Abstract : In the last decade, powerful communication and information technology in the form of the mobile phone has been put into the hands of more than 50% of the global population. In stark contrast, a lack of access to medical diagnostic technology with which to diagnose both communicable and non-communicable diseases will mean that many of these people will die of easily treatable conditions. 2. 2. The Formation of Giant Planets

    Author : Michiel Lambrechts; Astronomi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Planet formation; Solar System; Exoplanets; Giant planets; Hydrodynamics;

    Abstract : Giant planets form embedded in a protoplanetary disc around a young star. Close to the midplane a large fraction of the available mass in solids is found in particles of cm to dm in size, which drift towards the star due to friction with the surrounding gas. READ MORE

  3. 3. Formation and Early Evolution of Planetary Systems

    Author : Daniel Carrera; Astronomi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; planet formation; planets and satellites: dynamical evolution and stability -- planets and satellites: gaseous planets -- planets and satellites: terrestrial planets; planets and satellites: terrestrial planets;

    Abstract : Over the past 20 years we have discovered that exoplanets are common in the Galaxy, and are far more diverse than anyone expected. Half of all Sun-like stars are accompanied by at least one super-Earth (a planet with a size between Earth and Neptune), many planets have very high eccentricities indicative of a dynamical origin, and a small fraction of stars are accompanied by hot Jupiters, whose origin is poorly understood. 4. 4. New Techniques for Estimation of Source Parameters : Applications to Airborne Gravity and Pseudo-Gravity Gradient Tensors

    Author : Majid Beiki; Laust Pedersen; Mehrdad Bastani; Mark Pilkington; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Gravity gradient tensor; pseudo-gravity; magnetic field; eigenvector analysis; least squares algorithm; strike direction; source parameter estimation; analytic signal; Euler deconvolution; joint inversion; infinite dike model; geological contact model; Solid earth physics; Fasta jordens fysik; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics;

    Abstract : Gravity gradient tensor (GGT) data contains the second derivatives of the Earth’s gravitational potential in three orthogonal directions. GGT data can be measured either using land, airborne, marine or space platforms. READ MORE

  5. 5. Seismic Investigations at the Ketzin CO2 Injection Site, Germany: Applications to Subsurface Feature Mapping and CO2 Seismic Response Modeling

    Author : Sayed Hesammoddin Kazemeini; Christopher Juhlin; Sergey Fomel; Milovan Urosevic; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : 3D seismic data are widely used for many different purposes. Despite different objectives, a common goal in almost all 3D seismic programs is to attain better understanding of the subsurface features. READ MORE
