  1. 11. Fcγ Receptors in the Immune Response

    Author : Teresita Díaz de Ståhl; Jan van de Winkel; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; Fc Receptors; IgG Receptors; IgE Receptors; Immune regulation; In vivo animal models; Mouse; Rh prophylaxis; Rheumatoid arthritis; Transgenic knockout; Genetik; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Pathology; patologi;

    Abstract : Circulating immune complexes play an important role in the modulation of antibody responses and in the pathogenesis of immune diseases. This thesis deals with the in vivo regulatory properties of antibodies and their specific Fc receptors. READ MORE

  2. 12. Early Immunostimulatory Effects of IgE- and IgG Antibodies

    Author : Fredrik Hjelm; Birgitta Heyman; Sandra Kleinau; Robert Harris; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Immunology; Antibodies; Fc receptors; Antigen presentation; B cells; T cells; Immunologi;

    Abstract : Antibodies have the ability to influence their own production in a process called antibody feedback regulation. Depending on the type of antigen and the subclass of the antibody, the outcome of feedback regulation can be complete suppression or several hundred-fold enhancement of the antibody response. 3. 13. Mast cells: bad enemies or good friends? : A study of the effects of IgG immune complexes on mast cell biology

    Author : Lisa M Larsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mast cell; Fc receptor; Apoptosis; Immune complex; Adjuvant; CTA1-DD.;

    Abstract : Mast cells are classically defined as bad enemies to human health due to their critical involvement in IgE-dependent allergy by virtue of the expression of the high affinity IgE receptor, FcgammaRI, on these cells. However, mouse mast cells also express FcgammaRIIB and FcgammaRIIIA, two receptors that bind IgG especially in the form of IgG immune complexes. READ MORE

  4. 14. Kinetic modeling of autothermal reforming of heptane for a fuel cell - auxiliary power unit

    Author : Mattias Modén; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Heptane; Keywords: Steam reforming; Kinetic modeling; Oxidation; Autothermal reforming; FC-APU;

    Abstract : AbstractThe transport sector contributes significantly to the increasing amounts of air pollution. The pollution from idling heavy duty vehicles can be reduced by using a fuel cell auxiliary power unit (FC-APU) that supplies the vehicle with electricity. This licentiate thesis deals with production of hydrogen, which feeds the fuel cell. READ MORE

  5. 15. Immunoglobulin-binding bacterial surface proteins; biomedical tools and virulence factors

    Author : Britt-Marie Kihlberg; Infektionsmedicin; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Phagocytosis; M-like protein; M protein; Protein L; Protein G; Ig-binding; Streptococcus pyogenes; Fc Receptors; mykologi; virologi; bakteriologi; Mikrobiologi; mycology; virology; bacteriology; Microbiology; Cysteine proteinase; Streptolysin;

    Abstract : Many bacteria express immunoglobulin(Ig)-binding proteins that interact with Ig in a non-immune manner. Several of these Ig-binding bacterial proteins have been well characterized and are widely used as reagents for analysis and purification of Ig's. READ MORE
