1. Imperfections in Recycled Aluminium-Silicon Cast Alloys
Abstract : In striving to produce high quality cast components from recycled aluminium alloys, imperfections have to be considered, because recycled aluminium usually containsmore of it. However, there are great energy savings to be made by using recycledaluminium; as little as 5% of the energy needed for primary aluminium productionmay be required. READ MORE

2. Casting and anodising of Al alloys- Alloy design, manufacturing process and material properties
Abstract : Casting and semi-solid metal (SSM) casting are widely used to manufacture near-net-shape components of Al-Si alloys in the automotive and electronic industries. In such applications, casting components need to meet the combined requirements of good mechanical properties and corrosion and wear resistance. READ MORE

3. Mössbauer Spectroscopy of Meteoritic and Synthetic Fe-Ni Alloys
Abstract : This thesis reports on the results of investigating Fe-containing minerals in meteorites, with focus on Fe-Ni minerals and their magnetic properties, along with some synthetic Fe-Ni analogues. The New Halfa meteorite, which fell in Sudan 1994, has been studied using Mössbauer spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and electron microprobe analysis techniques, and classified as an ordinary L-type chondrite of petrologic type 4. 4. ROLE OF SURFACE OXIDES IN SINTERING OF CHROMIUM-ALLOYED STEEL POWDER
Abstract : During water-atomisation and handling of steel powder the surface inevitably oxidises. The surface bound oxide is an important factor in the processing of powder metallurgical (PM) steels, especially in case the powder contains elements forming stable oxides, such as Cr, Mn, and Si. 5. Net-Shape Consolidation of Water-Atomised and Gas-Atomised Steel Powder Towards Full Density
Abstract : Powder metallurgy (PM) provides resource- and cost-efficient routes to create near-net shape products compared to conventional metal fabrication techniques. To improve the mechanical performance of PM steels, it is a prerequisite to enhance the density of the material. READ MORE
