  1. 1. Hydrogeochemistry of Fe and Mn in small boreal catchments

    Author : Louise Björkvald; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hydrogeochemistry; Fe; Mn; boreal catchments; spring flood; Other earth sciences; Övrig geovetenskap;

    Abstract : It is suggested that the overall understanding of the general hydrogeochemistry of a region is best understood from a landscape perspective. If so, this can provide useful information when planning monitoring programmes and influence of human activity. READ MORE

  2. 2. Interactions between Fe and organic matter and their impact on As(V) and P(V)

    Author : Anneli Sundman; Per Persson; Thomas Borch; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; XAS; Fe III ; As V ; P V ; natural organic matter; Fe II; III -NOM complexes; Krycklan catchment; Earth Sciences with Specialization Environmental Analysis; geovetenskap med inriktning mot miljöanalys;

    Abstract : Iron (Fe) speciation is important for many biogeochemical processes. The high abundance and limited solubility of Fe(III) are responsible for the widespread occurrence of Fe(III) minerals in the environment. READ MORE

  3. 3. Surface structure and catalytic activity of Pd and Fe oxide surfaces and thin films

    Author : Mikhail Shipilin; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface X-ray diffraction SXRD ; Heterogeneous catalysis; Pd; PdO; Fe; FeO; Thin films; Fysicumarkivet A:2016:Shipilin;

    Abstract : The present work is devoted to atomic scale structural studies of the surfaces of model heterogeneous catalysts relevant to oxidation reactions. A novel approach using high-energy surface X-ray diffraction combined with mass-spectrometry measurements is employed to perform in situ structural characterization of Pd(100) and Pd(553) single crystal surfaces acting as catalysts in the process of CO oxidation under semirealistic conditions. 5. 5. Landscape hydrogeochemistry of Fe, Mn, S and trace elements (As, Co, Pb) in a boreal stream network

    Author : Louise Björkvald; Carl-Magnus Mörth; Hjalmar Laudon; Christine Alewell; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; landscape hydrogeochemistry; boreal streams; spring flood; Fe; Mn; S; As; Co; Pb; sulphur isotopes; sulphate; organic S; DOC; spatial variability; temporal variability; wetlands; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; geokemi; Geochemistry;

    Abstract : The transport of elements by streams from headwater regions to the sea is influenced by landscape characteristics. This thesis focuses on the influence of landscape characteristics (e.g. READ MORE
