  2. 12. Implication of pellet quality on combustion performance

    Author : Peter Sundberg; Claes Tullin; Sylvia Larsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Abstract : Quality aspects of wood pellets and their use have been of utmost importance since the development of the pellet market in the early 1980s. Research and hard-earned knowledge have resulted in advancements in the field, but there are still uncertainties in the pellet industry about how different quality aspects affect combustion performance. 3. 13. Food and Packaging Interactions Affecting Food Quality

    Author : Fredrik Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; sorbed vegetable oil; oxygen transmission rate; food packaging; supercritical fluid extraction; inertness test; refillable PET bottles; permeability; aroma; interactions; sorption;

    Abstract : Food and packaging interactions that may impair the food quality have been studied and methods to determine these interactions have been developed. An off-line supercritical fluid extraction method using carbon dioxide was developed and used to extract sorbed low molecular weight compounds from polymer films. READ MORE

  4. 14. Demand based control of indoor climate in office buildings. Design of local and central feed-forward control systems for high comfort, low energy use and low peak power

    Author : Mattias Gruber; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; demand based control; IAQ; central control; local control; disturbance rejection; thermal climate; HVAC; energy efficiency; feed-forward; Building services engineering; office buildings;

    Abstract : In this work, a number of novel strategies for controlling the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems in office buildings have been designed and evaluated. The purpose of the control strategies is to improve the match between what is supplied by the HVAC-systems and what is required to achieve a desirable indoor climate in the building. READ MORE

  5. 15. Nutrient utilisation in growing Cambodian cattle : effect of different feed sources and feed conservation techniques

    Author : Keo Sath; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Natural forages are an important part of the diet of cattle in Cambodia, but their nutrient value, particularly in terms of macro-minerals, may be inadequate, leading to potential mineral deficiencies in grazing cattle. This thesis compared the nutrient composition of six forage types (rice bran, rice straw, para grass, cassava foliage, leucaena leaves, water hyacinth leaves) from two regions in Cambodia against faecal and urinary excretion of macro minerals by cattle.
