6. Methodology for high-throughput production of soluble recombinant proteins in Escherichia coli
Abstract : The aim of this work was to investigate and determine central parameters that can be used to control and increase the solubility, quality and productivity of recombinant proteins. These central parameters should be applicable under the constraints of high-throughput protein production in Escherichia coli. READ MORE

7. Quality of muscle foods : effects of feed and storage time
Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate the effects of feed and storage time on meat quality. To study the effect of feed, chicken were fed seven steam-pelleted or nonpelleted rapeseed (RS) diets with different RS inclusion levels (0, 80, 160, and 240 g/kg) for 34 days, and the dietary effects on meat yield, fatty acid composition in meat, and the expression of lipid metabolism-related genes in liver were determined. 8. Bringing predictability into a geometallurgical program : An iron ore case study
Abstract : The risks of starting, operating and closing mining projects have become higher than ever. In order to stay ahead of the competition, mining companies have to manage various risks: technical, environmental, legal, regulatory, political, cyber, financial and social. Some of these can be mitigated with the help of geometallurgy. READ MORE

9. Rapid sample preparation and bioanalytical techniques for efficient screening of organic pollutants in the environment
Abstract : Large numbers of samples often need to be prepared and analysed in surveys of organic pollutants in the environment, but while the methods commonly used in such surveys can provide abundant detail they are generally costly, time-consuming and require large amounts of resources, so there is a need for simpler techniques. The work underlying this thesis assessed the potential utility of more convenient sample preparation and bioanalytical techniques for rapidly screening various environmental matrices that could be useful complements to higher resolution methods. 10. Quality-Driven Production of Aggregates in Crushing Plants
Abstract : Aggregate quality is of great importance, and in this context it is essential to understand how various process parameters influence the product quality characteristics. Thus, there is a need for aggregate producers to improve their process knowledge. READ MORE
