  1. 16. Femtosecond Dynamics of Dissociation and Isomerization Reactions in Solutions

    Author : Jose-Luis Alvarez; Kemisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; optics; Electromagnetism; Photochemistry; Fotokemi; acoustics; Elektromagnetism; optik; akustik; Fysicumarkivet A:1997:Alvarez;

    Abstract : The main purpose of this work has been to investigate the fundamental dynamics of photodissociation and photo-induced isomerization reactions in the condensed phase. These "elementary" reactions have been chosen as model processes for exploring the influence of the solvent on a chemical event, as well as the factors that control this influence. READ MORE

  2. 17. Electronic and Vibrational Coherence in Photosynthetic and Model Systems

    Author : Mirianas Chachisvilis; Kemisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kemi; Chemistry; Ultrafast relaxation; Porphyrins; Delocalization; Anisotropy; Wavepacket; Vibrational Coherence; Excitons; Electronic coherence; Energy transfer; Femtosecond spectroscopy; Photosynthesis;

    Abstract : Ultrafast optical response and excitation energy dynamics in light harvesting pigment-protein complexes and in a few model systems have been studied both experimentally and theoretically. Femtosecond light pulses were employed to excite the system and monitor the subsequent time evolution of the transient absorption kinetics and anisotropy. READ MORE

  3. 18. An Ultrafast Spectroscopic and Quantum-Chemical Study of the Photochemistry of Bilirubin : Initial Processes in the Phototherapy for Neonatal Jaundice

    Author : Burkhard Zietz; Tomas Gillbro; Jouko Korppi-Tommola; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bilirubin; Phototherapy; Neonatal Jaundice; Femtosecond Spectroscopy; CASSCF; TD-DFT; Isomerisation Dynamics; Biophysical chemistry; Biofysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : Bilirubin is a degradation product of haem, which is constantly formed in allmammals. Increased levels of bilirubin in humans lead to jaundice, a conditionthat is very common during the first days after birth. This neonataljaundice can routinely be treated by phototherapy without any serious sideeffects. READ MORE

    Author : Alessandro Enrico; Göran Stemme; Frank Niklaus; Anna Herland; Jürgen Brugger; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Micro-electromechanical systems MEMS ; nanotechnology; nanowires; microfabrication; tissue engineering; crack-lithography; direct writing; femtosecond lasers; two-photon polymerization; 3D micromachining; cavitation molding; scalable optical patterning; 2D materials; surface structuring; bacterial-surface interaction.; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Light is the primary source of energy on our planet and has been a significant driver in the evolution of human society and technology. Light finds applications in two-dimensional (2D) photolithography and three-dimensional (3D) printing, where a pattern is transferred to a material of interest by ultraviolet (UV) light exposure, and in laser scribing and cutting, where high power lasers are used to pattern the surface of objects or cut through the bulk of the material of interest. 5. 20. Ionization of large molecules with short laser pulses

    Author : Mikael Kjellberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysik; Photoelectron spectroscopy; Momentum mapping imaging; thermal ionization; above threshold ionization; molecular fusion; fullerenes; polyaromatic hydrocarbons; femtosecond-laser.;

    Abstract : The decay dynamics of fullerenes and polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) after femtosecond-laser excitation have been studied experimentally by electron momentum mapping and mass spectrometry. The electron spectra of fullerenes and large PAH-molecules were found to be exponentially decreasing with energy without any distinct peaks outside the photon energy. READ MORE
