  1. 1. Automated Production Technologies and Measurement Systems for Ferrite Magnetized Linear Generators

    Author : Tobias Kamf; Mats Leijon; Jonas Öhr; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; industrial robotics; automation; self-sensing; calibration; ferrite; linear generator; wave energy; offshore; measurements; electronics; kinetic energy storage; reluctance motor; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Abstract : The interest in breaking the historical dependence on fossil energy and begin moving towards more renewable energy sources is rising worldwide. This is largely due to uncertainties in the future supply of fossil fuels and the rising concerns about humanity’s role in the currently ongoing climate changes. READ MORE

  2. 2. Full Scale Applications of Permanent Magnet Electromagnetic Energy Converters : From Nd2Fe14B to Ferrite

    Author : Boel Ekergård; Mats Leijon; Ronan costello; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This thesis presents research regarding a full scale linear ferrite permanent magnet generator, installed in a wave energy conversion system. The ferrite based magnetic circuit, supplementing the previous utilized Nd2Fe14B-magnet design, is designed with an electromagnetic numerical simulation tool, where the model is derived from Maxwell’s equations. 4. 4. Investigation of electrical and magnetic properties of nanoparticles and nanofibers with the aim to tailor material properties of nanocomposites

    Author : Anna Jänis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; microscopy; ferrite; SiC; nanocomposite; nanowire; microwave absorbing properties; network analyzer; nanoparticle;

    Abstract : Nanocomposites are the subject of interest in this study which can be explained by the factum that using building blocks with dimensions in the nanosize range makes it possible to design and create new materials which can satisfy several functions at the same time for many applications. The applications of interest in this study belong to the microwave frequency region and for that reason a number of materials were investigated to define their microwave absorbing properties. 5. 5. On multiscale modeling of pearlitic steel

    Author : Erik Lindfeldt; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cementite; crystal plasticity; Pearlite; multiscale modeling; computational homogenization; digital image correlation; ferrite; in-situ SEM;

    Abstract : By studying pearlitic steels using a scanning electron microscope it can be observed that pearlite is a two-phase material with cementite lamellae embedded in a matrix of ferrite. The cementite is commonly described as being stiff and brittle in comparison to the ferrite which is considered to have a soft and ductile mechanical behavior. READ MORE
