  1. 1. Metallocene based peptidomimetics and chiral catalysts

    Author : Suzana Maricic; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; asymmetric catalysis.; metallocene based amino alcohols; one-pot macrocyclisation; cyclic peptides; Organometallic substance P and Leu 5 -enkephalin; conformational analysis;

    Abstract : Several optically active organometallic Phe-AAn-Phe peptidomimetics and macrocyclic Phe-(Phe)n peptides have been synthesized by either intra- or intermolecular peptide bond formation of the corresponding bis(amino acid) derivatives. The key bis(amino acid) derivatives were available from an improved multi-step synthetic route, utilising Horner-Wadswort-Emmons olefination of organometallic aldehydes with phosphonylglycine reagents, enantioselective hydrogenation of didehydro amino acids and classical solution and/or solid phase peptide synthesis methodology. 2. 2. Structure of Self-Assembled Monolayers on Gold Studied by NEXAFS and Photoelectron Spectroscopy

    Author : Somsakul Watcharinyanon; Lars Johansson; Hans Siegbahn; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Self-assembled monolayer SAMs ; X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy XPS ; Near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure NEXAFS spectroscopy; Infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy IRRAS ; contact angle measurements; Kelvin probe measurements; oligo phenyleneethynylene OPE ; Porphyrin-functionalized OPE; Tetraphenylporphyrin; Ferrocene-terminated alkanethiol; thiol; silane; Au 111 ; Physics; Fysik; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) provide well-defined and ordered films of molecules spontaneously chemisorbed on a surface. By designing molecules with desired functionalities, such molecular film can be interesting for a range of applications from molecular electronics to catalysis. READ MORE

  3. 3. Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Cluster-Based Catalysts for Asymmetric Reactions

    Author : Ahmed Fawzy; Kemisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Asymmetric synthesis; hydrogenation; ruthenium; osmium; rhenium; phosphine ligands; chirality.;

    Abstract : Synthesis and characterization of new transition metal carbonyl clusters has been undertaken, and evaluation of the new clusters to act as catalysts/catalysts precursor in asymmetric reactions has been carried out. The catalytic hydrogenation of tiglic acid under relatively mild conditions, using diastereomeric clusters of the general formula [(µ-H)2Ru3(µ3-S)(CO)7(µ-1,2-L)] (L= chiral diphosphine of the ferrocene-based Walphos and Josiphos families) as catalysts, reveal different catalytic behavior in terms of conversion and enantioselectivity. 4. 4. Area Selective Chemical Vapor Deposition of Metallic Films using Plasma Electrons as Reducing Agents

    Author : Hama Nadhom; Henrik Pedersen; Daniel Lundin; Kostas Sarakinos; Erwin Kessels; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Metallic films are used to improve optical, chemical, mechanical, magnetic, and electrical properties and are therefore of high importance in many applications, from electronics and catalysis, environmental protection and health, to wearable and flexible electronic materials. Many of these applications, however, require that the metal films are deposited uniformly on topographically complex surfaces and structures. READ MORE
