1. Inelastic analysis of fiber reinforced polymeric composites
Abstract : Fiber reinforced polymer composites are seeing increased use in the outomotive industry and other applications. This is because of the potential for rational and economical production in large series of complex shaped parts. Properties such as high strength to weight ratio and superior impact properties are of particular interest. READ MORE

2. Time-dependent behaviour of fiber reinforced polymeric composites
Abstract : The presented thesis contains results of experimental and theoretical studies of the time dependent processes in fiber composites. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to unidirectional fiber reinforced composites. Glass fiber laminates are tested and analyzed. READ MORE

3. A Framework for Fatigue Analysis of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Structures
Abstract : Our society depends on functional road communication, and Heavy Duty Vehicles (HDVs) offer convenient and limitless possibilities of transport and services. However, HDVs account for a quarter of the European Union's CO2 road emissions. There is a substantial need to reduce the CO2 emissions of HDVs to ensure a low negative environmental impact. 4. Micro-crack initiation and propagation in fiber reinforced composites
Abstract : Predicting micro-damage initiation and evolution is one of the key challenges for safe design of fiber reinforced polymer composites. Micro-scale damage such as, for example, single fiber break may be unnoticeable and negligible during the initial service life of composite, however, with many loading and unloading cycles this initially micro-scale damage may propagate forming macroscopic scale cracks that can significantly reduce the service lifetime or even lead to unforeseen catastrophic failure of the composite structure. 5. Mechanisms of inelastic behavior of fiber reinforced polymer composites
Abstract : In the present thesis, the sources of linear/non-linear viscoelastic and viscoplastic behaviour in polymer composite materials are under study. The significance of this work is related to the nature of all composite materials. All polymer composites tend to indicate a time-dependent behaviour. This behaviour can be either linear or nonlinear. READ MORE
