11. Heparan Sulfate Regulation of Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF) Receptor-1 Signal Transduction
Abstract : Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) constitute a family (currently FGF-1 to FGF-23) of polypeptides that are essential in embryonal development and adult physiology, in animals from nematodes to humans. FGFs bind to four receptor tyrosine kinases, denoted FGFR-1 to FGFR-4. READ MORE

12. Aspects of Fibroblast Growth Factor 23 in Mild to Moderate Renal Dysfunction
Abstract : Disturbances in mineral metabolism contribute to vascular calcification and mortality risk in chronic kidney disease (CKD). Serum levels of fibroblast growth factor (FGF)23, a bone derived, phosphaturic peptide, are associated with cardiovascular mortality in CKD. READ MORE

13. The role of fibroblast growth factor-23 in chronic kidney disease-mineral and bone disorder
Abstract : Fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF23) was initially identified as the causative factor of autosomal dominant hypophosphatemic rickets. Further studies confirmed that FGF23 is predominantly expressed in the osteocytes and osteoblasts of bone and that circulating FGF23 acts on the kidney to inhibit renal phosphate reabsorption and 1,25(OH)2D3 hydroxylation. 14. In vitro wound healing characteristics of amelogenins
Abstract : Wound healing involves the co-ordinated actions of several cell types, soluble cell mediators and extracellular matrix (ECM). This research project intended to investigate the role of certain ECM proteins in different processes during tissue repair by studying the interaction between dermal cells and ECM. READ MORE

15. On growth factors and titanium implant integration in bone
Abstract : PurposeThe purpose of the present thesis was to investigate the bone tissue response around titanium implants with one growth factor stimulating hormone and a few different growth factor substances.Material and methodsIn four studies (study I to IV) a rabbit model were used and the growth factors i.e. READ MORE
