6. Variability and Customization of Simulator Products : A Product Line Approach in Model Based Systems Engineering
Abstract : AIRCRAFT DEVELOPERS, like other organizations within development and manufacturing, are experiencing increasing complexity in their products and growing competition in the global market. Products are built from increasingly advanced technologies and their mechanical, electronic, and software parts grow in number and become more interconnected. READ MORE

7. Augmenting L1 Adaptive Control of Piecewise Constant Type to Aerial Vehicles
Abstract : In aerial vehicle control design, the industrial baseline is to use robust control methods together with gain-scheduling to cover the full airspeed and altitude flight envelope. An adaptive controller could possibly add value by increasing performance while keeping robustness to deviation from nominal assumptions. READ MORE

8. Flight Test System Identification
Abstract : With the demand for more advanced fighter aircraft, relying on unstable flight mechanical characteristics to gain flight performance, more focus has been put on model-based system engineering to help with the design work. The flight control system design is one important part that relies on this modeling. READ MORE

9. Model Predictive Control in Flight Control Design : Stability and Reference Tracking
Abstract : Aircraft are dynamic systems that naturally contain a variety of constraints and nonlinearities such as, e.g., maximum permissible load factor, angle of attack and control surface deflections. READ MORE

10. Realistic simulations of delta wing aerodynamics using novel CFD methods
Abstract : The overall goal of the research presented in this thesis is to extend the physical understanding of the unsteady external aerodynamics associated with highly maneuverable delta-wing aircraft by using and developing novel, more efficient computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools. More specific, the main purpose is to simulate and better understand the basic fluid phenomena, such as vortex breakdown, that limit the performance of delta-wing aircraft. READ MORE
