16. Development of infrared spectroscopy techniques for environmental monitoring
Abstract : Infrared spectroscopy techniques have long been utilized in identifying and quantifying species of interest to us. Many of the elementary molecules in the atmosphere interact with infrared radiation through their ability to absorb and emit energy in vibrational and rotational transitions. READ MORE

17. Searches for Dark Matter with IceCube and DeepCore : New constraints on theories predicting dark matter particles
Abstract : The cubic-kilometer sized IceCube neutrino observatory, constructed in the glacial ice at the South Pole, searches indirectly for dark matter via neutrinos from dark matter self-annihilations. It has a high discovery potential through striking signatures. READ MORE

18. Crohn's disease in Stockholm County : epidemiological panorama and associated gallstone disease
Abstract : Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease of obscure etiology, affecting any part of the gastrointestinal tract but the ileocaecal region in particular. The annual incidence has gradually been increasing, and the clinical pattern has changed; a shift towards colorectal involvement as well as an increasing number of elderly patients has been observed. 19. Nitric oxide in inflammatory bowel disease
Abstract : The aim of this study was to study nitric oxide (NO) in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) with a special reference to disease activity and disease location, in bolls an adult and a pediatric patient population, using rectal gas sampling. Furthermore, we investigated the cellular source of the measured NO as well as the relationship between the expression of inducible NO synthase (iNOS) and the proinflammatory TNF-alpha, IL-10 and INF-gamma. 20. Nitric oxide and evaluation of different treatments in experimental colitis and inflammatory bowel disease
Abstract : Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), is a chronic inflammatory disorder of unknown etiology of the gastrointestinal tract. Central features of IBD are increased nitric oxide (NO) generation in the gut lumen and dysfunction in regulation of leukocyte recruitment from the blood stream towards the affected tissue. READ MORE
