  1. 16. Multiphase flow measurements using ultrasound

    Author : Johan Carlson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Signalbehandling; Signal Processing;

    Abstract : In process industries such as for example the oil and gas industry, the paper pulp industry, and the mining industry, multiphase flows are common. It is often of interest to measure the mass fractions of the different phases. READ MORE

  2. 17. Microsystems Technology for Underwater Vehicle Applications

    Author : Jonas Jonsson; Greger Thornell; Hugo Nguyen; Johan Köhler; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Aquatic; Submersible; Underwater; Micro; Miniaturized; Sonar; Sidescan; Topography; Laser; Diffractive; Optics; Sampler; Particle; Microorganism; Acoustic; Enriching; Conductivity; Temperature; Depth; CTD; Flow; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot mikrosystemteknik; Engineering Science with specialization in Microsystems Technology;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis work has been to investigate how miniaturization, such as microsystems technology, can potentially increase the scientific throughput in exploration of hard-to-reach underwater environments, such as the subglacial lakes of Antarctica, or other challenging environments, including cave systems and wrecks. A number of instruments and subsystems applicable to miniature submersibles have been developed and studied, and their potential to provide a high functionality density for size-restricted exploration platforms has been assessed. 3. 18. Measuring and circumventing Internet censorship

    Author : Philipp Winter; Stefan Lindskog; Joss Wright; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tor; censorship; circumvention; anonymity; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : An ever increasing amount of governments, organisations, and companies employ Internet censorship in order to filter the free flow of information.  These efforts are supported by an equally increasing number of companies focusing on the development of filtering equipment.Only what these entities consider right can pass the filters. 4. 19. Evaluation of a Measuring System for Determining Extensional Properties

    Author : Magda Nyström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LPTT-model; Viscoelastic fluid; Boger fluid; numerical simulation; FENE-CR model; extensional rheology; White-Metzner model; hyperbolic contraction flow;

    Abstract : Effective and reliable characterisations of fluids are important to gain knowledge of thebehaviour and to govern the properties of a fluid. Since food products often are non-Newtonian, viscoelastic liquids, the characterisation becomes more complicated. READ MORE

  5. 20. Experimental Study and Modelling of Spacer Grid Influence on Flow in Nuclear Fuel Assemblies

    Author : Diana Caraghiaur Garrido; Henryk Anglart; Dominique Bestion; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spacer grid influence; annular flow; deposition; Lagrangian Particle Tracking;

    Abstract : The work is focused on experimental study and modelling of spacer grid influence on single- and two-phase flow. In the experimental study a mock-up of a realistic fuel bundle with five spacer grids of thin plate spring construction was investigated. A special pressure measuring technique was used to measure pressure distribution inside the spacer. READ MORE
