  1. 6. An Experimental and Theoretical Study of Decentralized Gas Fired Liquid Heating

    Author : Rolf Christensen; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; liquid heating.; efficiency; environmental impact; emissions; corrugated tube; heat transfer augmentation; heat transfer enhancement; energy conservation; decentralized heating; Natural gas; steam replacement; gas firing; Carbochemistry; petrochemistry; fuels and explosives technology; Petrokemi; bränslen; sprängämnen;

    Abstract : The effects on the energy situation in industry when gas fired liquid heaters replace steam have been determined by energy surveys performed in a brewery and a slaughterhouse, measurements of the performance and emissions from liquid heaters installed in these industries, and theoretical analyses of the potential energy saving. The theoretical study in the first part of the project provides information that allows assessment of the effects on the energy situation, of part or complete conversion to decentralized heating, under the conditions prevailing in the industries concerned. 3. 8. Externally fired gas turbine cycle based on biomass gasification gas as fuel

    Author : Fabiola Baina Veizaga; Torsten Fransson; Lasse Rosendhal; KTH; []
    Keywords : Externally fired micro gas turbine; heat transfer; combustion of biomass derived gas; micro combined heat and power; Energiteknik; Energy Technology;

    Abstract : Energy services are essential for the development of societies, reduce poverty, and improve the living standards of inhabitants. The conventional routes to provide energy services employ fossil fuels. However, this involves environmental and availability concerns. READ MORE

  4. 9. Waste incineration residues : Persistent organic pollutants in flue gas and fly ash from waste incineration

    Author : Eva Weidemann; Lisa Lundin; Stellan Marklund; Jean-Francois Boily; Henrik Bristav; Kees Olie; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MSW; PCDD; PCDF; PCN; PCB; POP; formation; degradation; case study; flue gas sampling thermal treatment; fly ash; surface characterization;

    Abstract : Modern societies produce large quantities of municipal solid waste (MSW), which is commonly disposed of by incineration. This has several advantages: it reduces the waste’s volume and sterilizes it while also enabling energy recovery. READ MORE
