    Author : Henrik Persson; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phase holographic microscopy; Nanowires; living cells; cell injection; Fysicumarkivet A:2014:Persson;

    Abstract : This thesis explores the interactions between cells and nanowires, to increase our understanding of how cells are affected and how they can be manipulated by these one-dimensional, semiconductor crystals (lengths 1-10 µm, diameters .... READ MORE

  2. 2. Mechanosensing Using GaInP Nanowires

    Author : Zhen Li; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Traction force; fluorescent nanowires; morphology; migration; Fysicumarkivet A:2018:Li;

    Abstract : Mechanical forces exists in many cellular processes, including cell proliferation, migration, rearrangement and differentiation. The transformation of cancer cells from normal cells, cancer metastasis and cell rearrangement during morphogenesis all involve changes in cellular mechanical forces. READ MORE

  3. 3. Lightguiding of Fluorescence in Nanowires : Principles, Optimization and Implementation for Biosensing

    Author : Damiano Verardo; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nanowires; Biosensing; Fluorescence microscopy;

    Abstract : Due to their unique optical properties, III-V nanowires are promising candidates for the development of efficient solar cells, LEDs and nanoscaled lasers. The interaction of nanowires with fluorescent molecules is also of interest, as these nanostructures can act as nanoscaled optical fibers. READ MORE

  5. 5. Methods for performance characterization of artificial molecular motors

    Author : Ivan Unksov; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis work is to characterize artificial biomolecular motors, specifically the Lawnmower, a motor based on the burn bridges mechanism, and the Tumbleweed, a protein motor that employs ligand specific DNA-proteins binding to step along DNA. An overview of their operational principles is given, and initial results of our studies are presented, along with a review of currently available methods to characterize artificial molecular motors.
