    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Glycoconjugates; Carbohydrates; Galactose; Glucose; Solid-phase synthesis; SPOS; Glycosylation; Gel-phase 19F NMR spectroscopy; Fluorinated linker; Carbohydrate array; Microtiter plates; Carbohydrate-protein interactions; carbamate linker; Fsec; Protecting group; Fluorinated protecting group; Multivalent glycoconjugates; Adenovirus; Ad37; Epidemic keratoconjunctivitis; EKC; Sialic acid; Adenovirus inhibitor; Trivalent; Tetravalent; X-ray crystal structure; Bioorganic chemistry; Bioorganisk kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : To study the functions of glycoconjugates in biological systems reliable and efficient protocols for glycoconjugate synthesis are needed. To reach this goal we have developed methods for solid-phase synthesis of glycoconjugates that can be monitored with gel-phase 19F spectroscopy using fluorinated linkers, building blocks, and protecting groups. Abstract : Mucin is a term used to describe a large family of heavily glycosylated proteins which are present on the surfaces of secretory epithelial cells and are overexpressed by many carcinomas. Membrane-bound mucin MUC1 is of special interest. Its backbone consists of repeating units of twenty amino acids with five potential glycosylation sites. READ MORE

  3. 3. Development of novel fluorine-18 labeled PET radioligands for monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B)

    Author : Sangram Nag; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Monoamine oxidases (MAO-A and MAO-B) are important enzymes regulating the levels of monoaminergic neurotransmitters. Selective and irreversible MAO-B inhibitors such as L-deprenyl and rasagiline are clinically used for the treatment of psychiatric and neurological disorders. READ MORE
