  1. 1. Improving Soft Real-time Performance of Fog Computing

    Author : Vaclav Struhar; Moris Behnam; Seyed Mohammad Hossein Ashjaei; Alessandro Papadopoulos; Silviu Craciunas; Ivona Brandic; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fog computing; real-time systems; cloud; virtualization; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Fog computing is a distributed computing paradigm that brings data processing from remote cloud data centers into the vicinity of the edge of the network. The computation is performed closer to the source of the data, and thus it decreases the time unpredictability of cloud computing that stems from (i) the computation in shared multi-tenant remote data centers, and (ii) long distance data transfers between the source of the data and the data centers. 2. 2. Persistent Fault-Tolerant Storage at the Fog Layer

    Author : Zeinab Bakhshi Valojerdi; Hans Hansson; Guillermo Rodriguez-Navas; Sasikumar Punnekkat; Radu Prodan; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dependability; Fog Computing; Fault-tolerance; Containerization; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Clouds are powerful computer centers that provide computing and storage facilities that can be remotely accessed. The flexibility and cost-efficiency offered by clouds have made them very popular for business and web applications. The use of clouds is now being extended to safety-critical applications such as factories. READ MORE

  3. 3. Parallel and Distributed Processing in the Context of Fog Computing: High Throughput Pattern Matching and Distributed Monitoring

    Author : Charalampos Stylianopoulos; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; resource-constrained devices; distributed monitoring; distributed processing; vectorization; pattern matching; high throughput; fog computing;

    Abstract : With the introduction of the Internet of Things (IoT), physical objects now have cyber counterparts that create and communicate data. Extracting valuable information from that data requires timely and accurate processing, which calls for more efficient, distributed approaches. READ MORE

  4. 4. Parallel Data Streaming Analytics in the Context of Internet of Things

    Author : Hannaneh Najdataei; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; clustering; stream continuous data processing; edge computing; Internet of Things; parallelism; elasticity; data analysis; fog computing; scalability;

    Abstract : We are living in an increasingly connected world, where the ubiquitously sensing technologies enable inter-connection of physical objects, as part of Internet of Things (IoT), and provide continuous massive amount of data. As this growth soars, benefits and challenges come together, which requires development of right tools in order to extract valuable information from data. READ MORE

  5. 5. Securing IoT Using Decentralized Trust Privacy and Identity Management
