1. On folding of coated papers
Abstract : The mechanical behaviour of coated papers during folding has been investigated. This problem has been studied with experimental techniques and numerical analyses in order to give a better understanding of the folding properties of coated papers pertinent to the mechanical behaviour in general, and particularly cracking along the fold. 2. The Interaction Between the Chaperonin GroEL and Human Carbonic Anhydrase II : Protein Folding and Stability Studies
Abstract : The presence of GroEL/ES during the refolding of human carbonic anhydrase II was found to increase the yield of active enzyme from approx. 70 to approx. 100%. This chaperone action on the enzyme could be obtained by adding GroEL alone, and the time course in that case was only moderately slower than the spontaneous process. READ MORE

3. Protein folding without loops and charges
Abstract : Going down the folding funnel, proteins may sample a wide variety of conformations, some being outright detrimental to the organism. Yet, the vast majority of polypeptide molecules avoid such pitfalls. Not only do they reach the native minimum of the energy landscape; they do so via blazingly fast, biased, routes. READ MORE

4. The birth and growth of the protein folding nucleus : Studies of protein folding focused on critical contacts, topology and ionic interactions
Abstract : Proteins are among the most complex molecules in the cell and they play a major role in life itself. The complexity is not restricted to just structure and function, but also embraces the protein folding reaction. READ MORE

5. Studies on spinach plastocyanin and mutants : Expression in Escherichia coli, folding and function
Abstract : Photosynthesis is a process in which photons from sunlight excite chlorophylls in the thylakoid membranes of plants, algae and cyanobacteria. The photo-oxidised reaction centre chlorophyll P700 is re-reduced by an electron transferred from the soluble, blue copper protein plastocyanin. READ MORE
