  1. 1. Defining the role of CD47 and SIRPα in murine B cell homeostasis

    University dissertation from Umeå : Umeå University

    Author : Shrikant S Kolan; Umeå universitet.; [2015]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; B cells; CD47; SIRPα; Follicular B cell; Marginal zone macrophages; immunologi; Immunology;

    Abstract : B cell development is a highly organized process, which commences in the fetal liver during embryogenesis and in the bone marrow (BM) after birth. Surface IgM+ immature B cells emigrate from the BM via the blood stream to the spleen and finally differentiate into conventional mature follicular B (FoB) cells and marginal zone (MZ) B cells. 2. 2. Aggressive B-cell Lymphomas Studies of Treatment, FDG-PET Evaluation and Prognostic Factors

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Abstract : To improve outcome in young, high-risk lymphoma patients, treatment was intensified, adding etoposide and rituximab to standard CHOP treatment. Granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) enabled treatment bi-weekly. Results were promising: overall (OS) and event-free survival (EFS) 79% and 60% respectively, median follow up 27 months. Abstract : Lymphocytes are essential for the generation of specific immunity. Development of B cells in the bone marrow and T cells in the thymus have several analogous features, and are tightly regulated processes. Even though there is an increasing amount of information concerning lymphopoiesis, a lot of questions remain. READ MORE

    Abstract : B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) is the most common leukemia among the adult population in western countries and accounts for 30-40% of all leukemias. With survival time ranging from months to decades, the clinical course of individual CLL patients is highly variable. READ MORE
