  1. 1. Teleoperation and the influence of driving feedback on drivers’ behaviour and experience

    Author : Lin Zhao; Mikael Nybacka; Pernilla Ulfvengren; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teleoperation; driving behaviour; driving feedback; driving performance; driving experience; motion cueing feedback; steering force feedback; Farkostteknik; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering;

    Abstract : Automated vehicles (AVs) have been developing at a rapid pace over the past few years. However, many difficulties still remain for achieving full Level-5 AVs. This signifies that AVs still require human operators to intervene or assist, such as taking over control of AVs or selecting their routes. READ MORE

  2. 2. Control Design and Performance Analysis of force Reflective Teleoperators - A Passivity Based Approach

    Author : Henrik Flemmer; KTH; []
    Keywords : Teleoperator; Force Feedback; Passivity; Stiff Contacts; Control; Robustness; Transparency; Bone Milling; Uncertainty;

    Abstract : In this thesis, the problem of controlling a surgical masterand slave system with force reflection is studied. The problemof stiff contacts between the slave and the environment isgiven specific attention. The work has been carried out at KTHbased on an initial cooperation with Karolinska Sjukhuset. 3. 3. Force Budget Analysis of Glacier Flow : Ice Dynamical Studies on Storglaciären, Sweden, and Ice Flow Investigations of Outlet Glaciers in Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica

    Author : Jim Hedfors; Veijo Pohjola; Else Kolstrup; Niels Reeh; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical geography and sedimentology; force budget; ice flux; ice dynamics; mass balance; strain heating; climate change; Storglaciären; Dronning Maud Land; Antarctica; Naturgeografi och sedimentologi; Physical geography; Naturgeografi;

    Abstract : This thesis contributes to the understanding of glacier response to climate change by ice dynamical studies on Storglaciären, Sweden, and Bonnevie-Svendsenbreen, Kibergbreen and Plogbreen in Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica. Ice surface velocities, ice geometry and temperature information is fed through a force budget model to calculate ice mass outflux of these glacial systems via three-dimensional stress distributions for a flux-gate. 4. 4. High-Speed Vision and Force Feedback for Motion-Controlled Industrial Manipulators

    Author : Tomas Olsson; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; robotics; Automation; Force vision control; Visual tracking; Visual servoing; control engineering; Automatiska system; robotteknik; reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Over the last decades, both force sensors and cameras have emerged as useful sensors for different applications in robotics. This thesis considers a number of dynamic visual tracking and control problems, as well as the integration of these techniques with contact force control. READ MORE

  5. 5. Haptic Feedback Control Methods for Steering Systems

    Author : Tushar Chugh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; passivity and coupled stability; torque and position overlay; Haptic feedback; impedance and admittance control; system identification; steering system;

    Abstract : Haptic feedback from the steering wheel is an important cue that defines the steering feel in the driver-vehicle interaction. The steering feedback response in an electric power assisted steering is primarily dependent on its control strategy. READ MORE
