21. Aspects on finite element simulation of sheet metal forming processes
Abstract : This thesis has focused on four different aspects of finite element simulation of sheet metal forming processes. Four substantial research areas are the development of a methodology for predicting the limiting strains in connection with the Forming Limit Diagram, the applicable mode of procedure for finite element simulation of the hydromechanical deep drawing process, the adaptive mesh refinement strategy based on gradients of the effective plastic stresses and strains; and the reliability and sensitivity assessments within sheet metal forming processes. 22. Passive Island Detection of Microgrid by Grid Forming Inverter
Abstract : The supply reliability of a local grid will be improved if the local grid is managed as a microgrid, with the ability to operate in island mode when the main grid is temporarily unavailable. This thesis focuses on microgrids powered by inverter-based resources (IBRs), one or several of which need to be equipped with grid forming (GFM) capability for establishing and controlling the voltage and frequency of the microgrid during island operation. 23. On Transfer of Work Material to Tools
Abstract : Bulk forming and cutting are widely used to shape metals in industrial production. Bulk forming is characterized by large strains, extensive plastic deformation and large surface expansions. Cutting is characterized by high speeds, high pressures and high temperatures. READ MORE

24. On the Modelling of Mechanical Dewatering in Papermaking
Abstract : Most of the water fed into a paper machine is removedmechanically in the forming and press sections. One of thefactor which has an important influence on mechanicaldewatering, i.e. in both forming and pressing, is thestress-strain behaviour of the fibre network. READ MORE

25. Modelling and simulation of paper structure development
Abstract : A numerical tool has been developed for particle-level simulations of fibre suspension flows, particularly forming of the fibre network structure of paper sheets in the paper machine. The model considers inert fibres of various equilibrium shapes, and finite stiffness, interacting with each other through normal, frictional, and lubrication forces, and with the surrounding fluid medium through hydrodynamic forces.
