  1. 1. Topical formulations, design and drug delivery : "A dive into water"

    Author : Abdullah Ali; Marie Lodén; Anan Yagmur; Anders Hall; Malmö universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; water; topical formulations; Pickering emulsion; skin cream; drug delivery; tactile friction; sensory panel; nasal; buccal; mucosa; skin; triglycerides; ethanol; drug transport; cosmetic appeal;

    Abstract : Water is a vital component regulating the properties of topical formulations and their interaction with biological barriers, such as skin and mucosa. Changing the watercontent within the frame of the pharmaceutical triangle will have a huge impact on which type of formulation, such as a cream, ointment, gel, or lotion, is formed, as well as the physical properties of the formulation. Abstract : In this dissertation three central themes concerning the ownership and allocation in the city of Stockholm over long periods are examined.The first theme property markets involves constructions of real estate price indexes spanning from 1726 to 2018. READ MORE

  3. 3. The Horizontal Ussing Chamber Method in Studies of Nasal Drug Delivery : Method Development and Applications Using Different Formulations

    Author : Karin Östh; Anna-Lena Ungell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacy; FARMACI; PHARMACY; FARMACI; galenisk farmaci; Pharmaceutics;

    Abstract : The results from this thesis leads to the following conclusions; HUM is a useful tool that fills a gap in the in vitro methods previously available to study nasal drug delivery. Using HUM, the pig respiratory nasal mucosa can obtain acceptable viability and retain it longer than the period of time needed for a transport experiment. READ MORE

  4. 4. Improved Molecular Understanding of Lipid-Based Formulations : for Enabling Oral Delivery of Poorly Water-Soluble Drugs

    Author : Linda C. Alskär; Christel Bergström; Brendan Griffin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; lipid-based formulation; poorly water-soluble drug; solubility prediction; molecular properties; lipid digestion; precipitation; solid state; intestinal solubilization; in vitro in vivo correlation IVIVC ; coadministration; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Abstract : The majority of emerging drug candidates are not suited for conventional oral dosage forms, as they do not dissolve in the aqueous environment of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Consequently, a large number of enabling formulation strategies have emerged. READ MORE

  5. 5. Error analysis of summation-by-parts formulations : Dispersion, transmission and accuracy

    Author : Viktor Linders; Jan Nordström; Marco Kupiainen; Mark Carpenter; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : In this thesis we consider errors arising from finite difference operators on summation-by-parts (SBP) form, used in the discretisation of partial differential equations. The SBP operators are augmented with simultaneous-approximation-terms (SATs) to weakly impose boundary conditions. READ MORE
