  1. 1. Forward Jet Production in ep-collisions at HERA

    Author : Albert Knutsson; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Forward Jets; Parton dynamics; Jets; Small-x; Low-x; Elementary particle physics; QCD; quantum field theory; Elementarpartikelfysik; kvantfältteori; Fysicumarkivet A:2007:Knutsson;

    Abstract : The production of forward jets has been measured in deep inelastic $ep$ collisions at HERA. The results are presented in terms of single differential cross sections as a function of the Bjorken scaling variable ($x_{Bj}$) and as triple differential cross sections $d^3 sigma / dx_{Bj}dQ^2dp_{t,jet}^2$, where $Q^2$ is the four momentum transfer squared and $p_{t,jet}^2$ is the squared transverse momentum of the forward jet. 2. 2. A Study of Parton Dynamics from Deep Inelastic Scattering Events Containing a Jet in the Forward Direction

    Author : Martin Karlsson; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantum field theory; Elementary particle physics; DIS; ep scattering; H1; jets; forward jet; small-x; parton dynamics; Elementarpartikelfysik; kvantfältteori; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Karlsson;

    Abstract : The DIS ep-scattering parton dynamics at low-x is characterised by an initial state cascade in which the virtualities of the propagator gluons are expected to take any kinematically allowed value, in contrast to the leading log behaviour. These dynamics might be enhanced by selecting events in which an energetic jet is found in the forward angular region at HERA, 1. READ MORE

  3. 3. Jet-Ejecta Interactions in Neutron Star Mergers : How jets interacting with the surroundings affect multi-wavelength observations

    Author : Lorenzo Nativi; Stephan Rosswog; Miguel Aloy; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hydrodynamics; relativistic processes; jets; gamma-ray bursts; neutron star mergers; macronova; Astronomy; astronomi;

    Abstract : In August 2017 a gravitational wave signal from a binary neutron star merger was detected for the first time, and it was followed by several electromagnetic detections that spanned the whole electromagnetic spectrum. Those observations proved the ejection of two dynamical components: mildly-relativistic neutron rich ejecta and an ultra-relativistic jet. READ MORE

  4. 4. Large Eddy Simulation for the Analysis of Supersonic Jet Noise Suppression Devices

    Author : Markus Olander Burak; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fluidic injection; mixer-ejector; jet noise; Kirchhoff; forward flight effects; LES; acoustic liner; supersonic turbulent jets; broadband time-domain impedance boundary condition; chevrons; shock-associated noise; CAA; aeroacoustics;

    Abstract : Stricter noise regulations for commercial and military aircraft have increased interest in noise reduction techniques within the aerospace industry. To meet the requirements, new noise suppression technologies have to be developed and numerical methods need to be validated and possibly improved for the correct assessment of these technologies. 5. 5. Quantum chromodynamics and colour singlet exchange in high energy interactions

    Author : Rikard Enberg; Gunnar Ingelman; W. James Stirling; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik; Physics; Fysik; Fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Quantum chromodynamics (QCD) is the fundamental theory in elementary particle physics that describes the strong interaction in terms of exchanges of force-carrying, colour-charged particles known as gluons. Although well-established through experimental verifications, there are fundamental unsolved problems in the theory. READ MORE
