  1. 1. Structure of Zero Pressure Gradient High Reynolds Number Turbulent Boundary Layers

    Author : Murat Tutkun; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fourier decomposition.; proper orthogonal decomposition; large scale structures; Turbulent boundary layers; zero pressure gradient; wind tunnel; calibration; cross-correlations; hot-wire; two-point correlations; high Reynolds number;

    Abstract : This thesis presents part of the large research program funded by the European Commission calledWallturb: A European synergy for the assessment of wall turbulence. The main aim of this researchprogram is to create new experimental and numerical databases on the characteristics of turbulent wall-bounded flows, especially turbulent boundary layers. READ MORE

  2. 2. Numerical Vlasov–Maxwell Modelling of Space Plasma

    Author : Bengt Eliasson; Bertil Gustafsson; Bo Thidé; Anders Bondeson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Vlasov equation; Maxwell equation; Fourier method; outflow boundary; domain decomposition; Numerical Analysis; Numerisk analys;

    Abstract : The Vlasov equation describes the evolution of the distribution function of particles in phase space (x,v), where the particles interact with long-range forces, but where shortrange "collisional" forces are neglected. A space plasma consists of low-mass electrically charged particles, and therefore the most important long-range forces acting in the plasma are the Lorentz forces created by electromagnetic fields. 3. 3. Computational Fluid Dynamics and Experimental Studies of the Urea-SCR System

    Author : Andreas Lundström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; urea; SCR; decomposition; CYA; HNCO; NH3; CFD; thermolysis;

    Abstract : Volatile emissions produced by the burning of fossil fuels may be converted on a catalyst to less harmful products. During lean combustion an excess of oxygen in the exhaust gases together with a catalyst effectively oxidizes carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons into carbon dioxide and water. READ MORE

    Abstract : Volatile emissions produced by the combustion of fossil fuels may be converted on a catalyst to less harmful products. During lean combustion an excess of oxygen in the exhaust gases together with a catalyst effectively oxidizes carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons into carbon dioxide and water. READ MORE

  5. 5. Infinite dimensional holomorphy in the ring of formal power series : partial differential operators

    Author : Henrik Petersson; Andrei Khrennikov; Sean Dineen; Växjö universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Infinite dimensional holomorphy; Formal power series; Fourier-Borel transform; Paley-Wiener theorem; Fischer decomposition; Fischer pair; Fock space; Cauchy-Problem; Kergin operator; PDE-preserving; Pseudo-differential operators.; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK;

    Abstract : We study holomorphy in the ring of formal power series in an infinite number of variables. Thus we restrict our study to (infinite dimensional) holomorphy on sequence spaces and we show that we obtain a rich theory without requiring any topological structure on the domain space. We make a comprehensive PDO-study for the spaces under consideration. READ MORE
