  1. 6. Classical molecular dynamics simulations of collision-induced absorption : method development and evaluation

    Author : Wissam Fakhardji; Magnus Gustafsson; Javier Martin-Torres; Jean-Michel Hartmann; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Physics; Tillämpad fysik;

    Abstract : In this thesis collision-induced absorption (CIA) coefficients are computed using molec-ular dynamics (MD) simulations. Part I is dedicated to the theoretical frame of the method, from the classical theory radiation to the derivation of an absorption coefficient. READ MORE

  2. 7. Surface Characterization using Radiometric and Fourier Optical Methods

    Author : Peter Hansson; Arne Roos; Mikael Sjödahl; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engineering physics; Radiometry; Fourier Optics; Surface Characterization; Topography; Reflectance; Color; Paper; Printing; Print quality; Gloss; Light scattering; Shape from shading; Photometric stereo; Optical motion compensation; Filtering; Wiener filter; Lamberts law; Image analysis; Image processing; Machine vision; Teknisk fysik; Engineering physics; Teknisk fysik;

    Abstract : This thesis treats static and dynamic surface characterization using radiometric and Fourier optical methods. A Fourier optical method has been developed for real time image processing in paper production and printing applications. READ MORE

  3. 8. Numerical Vlasov–Maxwell Modelling of Space Plasma

    Author : Bengt Eliasson; Bertil Gustafsson; Bo Thidé; Anders Bondeson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Vlasov equation; Maxwell equation; Fourier method; outflow boundary; domain decomposition; Numerical Analysis; Numerisk analys;

    Abstract : The Vlasov equation describes the evolution of the distribution function of particles in phase space (x,v), where the particles interact with long-range forces, but where shortrange "collisional" forces are neglected. A space plasma consists of low-mass electrically charged particles, and therefore the most important long-range forces acting in the plasma are the Lorentz forces created by electromagnetic fields. 4. 9. Analysis of Dipole and Patch Antennas in Cylindrical Structures

    Author : Peter Slättman; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fourier transform; cross-section; patch; slot; arbitrary; EFIE; trough guide; cylindrical; dipole; moment method; antenna; aperture coupled;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the analysis of dipoles, patches, and aperture coupled patches located in an infinitely long cylindrical structure with arbitrary cross-section. The analysis exploits the two-dimensional nature of the structure by expanding all fields and currents in spatial harmonics along the cylinder axis, and solving the subsequent spectral two-dimensional problems by the moment method.
