  1. 11. System of Systems Interoperability Machine Learning Model

    Author : Jacob Nilsson; Fredrik Sandin; Sheraz Ahmed; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; system of systems interoperability; machine learning; message translation; information interoperability; autoencoder; cyber-physical systems; Industriell elektronik; Industrial Electronics;

    Abstract : Increasingly flexible and efficient industrial processes and automation systems are developed by integrating computational systems and physical processes, thereby forming large heterogeneous systems of cyber-physical systems. Such systems depend on particular data models and payload formats for communication, and making different entities interoperable is a challenging problem that drives the engineering costs and time to deployment. Abstract : Apoptosis is one of the most common types of cell death. Under physiological conditions, it plays an essential role in removal of damaged and potentially harmful cells. Excessive apoptosis has however been linked to a number of diseases including proteinuric kidney disease and DKD, and is believed to enhance the disease progression. READ MORE

  3. 13. Event-Driven Architectures for Heterogeneous Neuromorphic Computing Systems

    Author : Mattias Nilsson; Fredrik Sandin; Foteini Liwicki; Jerker Delsing; Chiara Bartolozzi; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Neuromorphic computing; Mixed-signal; Low-power; Non-von Neumann; Spatiotemporal pattern recognition; System integration; Cyber-Physical Systems; Cyberfysiska system;

    Abstract : Mixed-signal neuromorphic processors have brain-like organization and device physics optimized for emulation of spiking neural networks (SNNs), and offer an energy-efficient alternative for implementing artificial intelligence in applications where deep learning based on conventional digital computing is unfeasible or unsustainable. However, efficient use of such hardware requires appropriate configuration of its inhomogeneous, analog neurosynaptic circuits, with methods for sparse, spike-timing-based information encoding and processing. 4. 14. Using Inhomogeneous Neuronal–Synaptic Dynamics for Spatiotemporal Pattern Recognition in Neuromorphic Processors

    Author : Mattias Nilsson; Fredrik Sandin; Foteini Liwicki; Jerker Delsing; Elisabetta Chicca; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cyber-Physical Systems; Cyberfysiska system;

    Abstract : Mixed-signal neuromorphic processors emulate the electrochemical dynamics of neurons and synapses using conventional analog CMOS-transistor technology and have potential for ultra-low-power machine learning and inference. However, the energy-efficiency of such systems is dependent on sparse, time-based information encoding and processing, and they are, furthermore, subject to imprecision from “device mismatch” in the analog circuitry. 5. 15. Dimensions and projections

    Author : Anders Nilsson; Peter Wingren; Fredrik Georgsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fractals; Hausdorff dimension; box dimension; packing dimension; projections; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns dimensions and projections of sets that could be described as fractals. The background is applied problems regarding analysis of human tissue. One way to characterize such complicated structures is to estimate the dimension. READ MORE
