  2. 2. Bayesian Phylogenetic Inference

    Author : Sebastian Höhna; Tom Britton; Fredrik Ronquist; Lars Arvestad; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : In this thesis we consider two very different topics in Bayesian phylogenetic inference. The first paper, "Inferring speciation and extinction rates under different sampling schemes" by Sebastian Höhna, Tanja Stadler, Fredrik Ronquist and Tom Britton, focuses on estimating the rates of speciation and extinction of species when only a subsample of the present day species is available. 3. 3. Evolution of host repertoires and the diversification of butterflies

    Author : Mariana Pires Braga; Niklas Janz; Sören Nylin; Fredrik Ronquist; Alexandre Antonelli; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; coevolution; host-parasite interaction; inference; networks; zoologisk ekologi; Animal Ecology;

    Abstract : All herbivorous insects are specialized to some extent to their host plants, but the level of specialization varies greatly. Insect-plant coevolution is often invoked to explain the large diversity of herbivorous insects, but the role of specialization during diversification is still controversial. READ MORE

  4. 4. Systematics of Eucoilini : Exploring the diversity of a poorly known group of Cynipoid parasitic wasps

    Author : Mattias Forshage; Fredrik Ronquist; Göran Nordlander; John Heraty; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Eucoila; Trybliographa; Eucoilini; Eucoilinae; Figitidae; Cynipoidea; Hymenoptera; phylogenetics; diagnostics; classification; taxonomy; systematic revision; morphology; Systematics and phylogenetics; Systematik och fylogeni; Entomology; entomologi; systematisk zoologi; Systematic Zoology;

    Abstract : Many animal species are still undiscovered, even in Sweden. This thesis deals with the wasps of the subfamily Eucoilinae (of Figitidae, Cynipoidea), a poorly known group of small parasitoids of Dipteran flies. READ MORE

  5. 5. A multi-faceted approach to a "dark taxon" : The hyperdiverse and poorly known scuttle flies (Diptera: Phoridae)

    Author : Emily Hartop; Fredrik Ronquist; Torbjørn Ekrem; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biodiversity; taxonomy; dark taxa; Systematic Zoology; zoologisk systematik och evolutionsforskning;

    Abstract : Most of the unknown animal biodiversity on earth is in groups of invertebrates that are hyperdiverse and abundant, yet poorly known (“dark taxa”). The study of these organisms requires a multi-faceted approach and methodologies designed to tackle large numbers of species and specimens. READ MORE
