1. Fast ions and turbulent particle transport in tokamaks
Abstract : The presence of highly energetic (fast) ions, be it fusion born alpha particles or ions accelerated by auxiliary heating schemes, can affect the heating and transport of all particles in the plasma through two main mechanisms. First, fast ions may excite fast ion driven instabilities. READ MORE

2. Nonlinear dynamics of frequency sweeping energetic particle modes in tokamaks
Abstract : In a burning plasma, such as the next generation tokamak experiment ITER, significant numbers of highly energetic particles will be produced via nuclear reactions. The presence of energetic particles, be it fusion born alpha particles or ions accelerated by auxiliary heating schemes, may excite kinetic instabilities and thereby affect the heating and transport of all particles in the plasma. 3. Kollegialt lärande i matematik : Ett verksamhetsteoretiskt perspektiv
Abstract : In the last decade, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) are increasingly used as models for teachers’ joint efforts in developing their teaching. The overall aim of this licentiate thesis is to expand the knowledge of PLCs in mathematics, by deepening the understanding of aspects that influence the establishment, organization, and implementation of PLCs in mathematics. 4. Responsible Conduct in Dual Use Research : Towards an Ethic of Deliberation in the Life Sciences
Abstract : Life scientists have increasingly been asked to incorporate a dual use responsibility in their research conduct. In this thesis, different aspects of what constitutes a reasonable responsibility in terms of avoiding harmful misuse of research for biological weapon purposes have been explored. READ MORE

5. Fat cell insulin resistance : an experimental study focusing on molecular mechanisms in type 2 diabetes
Abstract : The aim of the present thesis was to further increase our understanding of mechanisms contributing to and maintaining cellular insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes (T2D). For this reason, the effects of high glucose and insulin levels on glucose transport capacity and insulin signaling, with emphasis on insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS-1) were assessed in fat cells.
