  2. 2. Issues in Structured Knowledge Representation A Definitional Approach with Application to Case-Based Reasoning and Medical Informatics

    Author : Göran Falkman; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Several issues concerned with structured knowledge representation based on definitional structures are discussed: the realisation of knowledge-based systems using declarative programming, similarity assessment in knowledge representation and case-based reasoning, and the importance of human-computer interaction and information visualisation in knowledge-based systems. To illustrate the basic ideas, real-world applications from the area of oral medicine are used. READ MORE

  3. 3. Integrating domain knowledge into deep learning : Increasing model performance through human expertise

    Author : Niclas Ståhl; Göran Falkman; Alexander Karlsson; Gunnar Mathiason; Jonas Boström; Keith Downing; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; INF301 Data Science; INF301 Data Science; Skövde Artificial Intelligence Lab SAIL ; Skövde Artificial Intelligence Lab SAIL ;

    Abstract : The research in this thesis is focused on how deep learning models can be designed and implemented to better emulate and integrate the heuristic reasoning process of human experts. Several case studies, within the domains of steel making and drug discovery, are conducted in order to evaluate the performance of these models, in comparison to models that do not consider human expert knowledge from the targeted domain. 4. 4. Anomaly detection in the surveillance domain

    Author : Christoffer Brax; Lars Niklasson; Göran Falkman; Dimiter Driankov; Henric Johnson; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Anomaly Detection; Information Fusion; Visual Surveillance; Maritime Domain Awareness; Datalogi; Computer and Systems Science; Teknik;

    Abstract : In the post September 11 era, the demand for security has increased in virtually all parts of the society. The need for increased security originates from the emergence of new threats which differ from the traditional ones in such a way that they cannot be easily defined and are sometimes unknown or hidden in the “noise” of daily life. 5. 5. Petri nets for situation recognition

    Author : Anders Dahlbom; Lars Niklasson; Göran Falkman; Amy Loutfi; Kathryn Blackmond Laskey; Örebro universitet; []
