    Abstract : Chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS) of the lower leg, defined as a condition with exercise-induced pain due to increased intramuscular pressure (IMP), has previously mainly been described in running athletes, and etiologic factors are poorly described. We present patients from a large family in Norrbotten, Sweden with a mutation in the nerve growth factor β gene (NGFß).
