1. Constitutive and TCDD-induced expression of Ah receptor responsive genes with special focus on the brain and pituitary
Abstract : The 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (2,3,7,8-TCDD) and related substances are ubiquitous environmental pollutants causing a number of pathological alterations, the most severe being progressive anorexia and body weight loss. The effects on body weight homeostasis suggest a possible involvement of the nervous system and neuroendocrine areas including the pituitary gland. READ MORE

2. Genetic control of myasthenia gravis : a study on cytokine and co-stimulator genes and their related functions
Abstract : Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a classical autoimmune disease characterised by muscle weakness due to an immune attack against the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (AchR) on the postsynaptic membrane of the neuromuscular junction. The aim of the study was to identify the role of the genes encoding potential immune components, such as TNF, IL-1, IL-1 receptor antagonist, IL-4, IL-10, and cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA-4) in the pathogenesis of MG. 3. Biomarkers and viral risk factors in multiple sclerosis
Abstract : Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory disease resulting in axonal injury and demyelination of nerve fibers in the central nervous system. The causal factor and pathological mechanisms governing disease progression have remained elusive, limiting the available clinical tools for MS diagnosis and treatment monitoring, particularly in the periphery. 4. Determinants and clinical implications of circulating fatty acids in individuals with chronic kidney disease
Abstract : Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) have a high risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Adding to traditional risk factors, e.g., Framingham risk factors, novel risk factors including inflammation, insulin resistance (IR) and metabolic syndrome (MetS) are being detected in patients with advanced CKD. 5. Coarse dust particle transport model around Malmberget mining area
Abstract : The dust generated from mining activities in the mining area is an important environmental issue for modern mining industries with many environmental problems involved. Number of researcher worked on small dust particle transport, but few work related to the coarser dust particles with 10 to 100 micro meters diameters had been made despite the fact that coarser dust transport have significant influence on the human lives (e.
