1. Granulopoietic growth factors. Cytokine and cellular regulation of GM-CSF and G-CSF production
Abstract : Granulocyte-macrophage- (GM-) and granulocyte- (G-) colony stimulating factor (CSF) are important cytokines in the regulation of hematopoiesis and for the function of mature blood cells. They are also involved in the cytokine network regulating the inflammatory and immune response. READ MORE

2. Repair and Reconstruction of Peripheral Nerve Injuries. Treatment with G-CSF and Stromal Vascular Fraction
Abstract : While surgery is a cornerstone in treatment of peripheral nerve injuries, it is not a comprehensive approach, and outcome is unsatisfactory, especially sensory function. The present aim was to translate recent findings about stem- and progenitor cells to improve regenerative outcome, where the cells have to be autologous, available within the same surgical procedure, and minimally manipulated. 3. Apoptosis in the myelodysplastic syndromes : protective effect of G-CSF
Abstract : Increased apoptosis of hematopoietic progenitor cells is a hallmark for the myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and one of the main reasons for the ineffective hematopoiesis and subsequent cytopenia characteristic for the disease. In particular in low risk MDS, such as refractory anemia (RA) and refractory anemia with ringed sideroblasts (RARS), severe transfusion-dependent anemia leading to constant fatigue and weakness and therefore reduced quality of life often constitutes the main clinical problem. 4. Individually Tailored Toxicity-based Chemotherapy : Studies on Patients with Primary and Metastatic Breast Cancer
Abstract : Standard dosing of chemotherapy based on body surface area (BSA) results in large individual differences in toxicity due to a large inter-patient variability in pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD). This results in under-dosing in certain patients with a potentially weaker antitumoral effect. READ MORE

5. CarcinoEmbryonic Antigen-related Cell Adhesion Molecule 8 (CEACAM8) : Purification, Characterization, Cellular and Clinical Studies
Abstract : A 95-kDa protein was purified from normal human granulocytes. The protein reacted with a monoclonal antibody against CEACAM8. MALDI-Tof and MS/MS analyses revealed the protein to be a CGM6 gene product. Thus, the protein was proved to be identical to CEACAM8. READ MORE
