1. Laser Absorption Spectroscopy of Gas in Scattering Media
Abstract : Absorption spectroscopy constitutes a chemical analysis tool which can be applied to various samples and application fields. This thesis focuses on gas absorption spectroscopy with the means of diode lasers - tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy, TDLAS. READ MORE

2. Diode-laser absorption spectroscopy - applications in medicine and environmental monitoring
Abstract : A major part of this thesis work has been research in a medical project, where, together with industry and clinical partners, the aim was to develop a prototype system for non-invasive monitoring of premature babies based on the optical measurement technique gas in scattering media absorption spectroscopy (GASMAS). Part of the project was to develop a 3D-printed tissue phantom based on chest X-ray images of the thorax of a premature infant. READ MORE

3. Development of laser spectroscopy for scattering media applications
Abstract : Laser spectroscopy for both large and small spatial scales has been developed and used in various applications ranging from remote monitoring of atmospheric mercury in Spain to investigation of oxygen contents in wood, human sinuses, fruit, and pharmaceutical solids. Historically, the lidar group in Lund has performed many differential absorption lidar (DIAL) measurements with a mobile lidar system that was first described in 1987. READ MORE

4. Light Propagation and Gas Absorption Studies in Turbid Media Using Tunable Diode Llaser Techniques
Abstract : Optical absorption spectroscopy is a widely used analytical tool for constituent analysis in many applications. According to the Beer-Lambert law, the transmitted light intensity through a homogeneous medium is an exponential function of the product of the concentration, the total pathlength, and the absorption cross-section of the absorbing substance. 5. Non-invasive optical monitoring of free and bound oxygen in humans
Abstract : Background: Possibilities of detecting oxygen - both in its free form, as gas in the lungs, and in its bound form, as oxygenated hemoglobin - have been explored in this thesis. Perfusion and oxygenation of vital organs (e.g. READ MORE
