1. Chemical signalling in the Drosophila brain : GABA, short neuropeptide F and their receptors
Abstract : Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and short neuropeptide F (sNPF) are widespread signalling molecules in the brain of insects. In order to understand more about the signalling and to some extent start to unravel the functional roles of these two substances, this study has examined the locations of the transmitters and their receptors in the brain of the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster using immunocytochemistry in combination with Gal4/UAS technique. 2. The Gene Repertoire of G protein-coupled Receptors : New Genes, Phylogeny, and Evolution
Abstract : The superfamily of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) is one of the largest protein families of mammalian genomes and can be divided into five main families; Glutamate, Rhodopsin, Adhesion, Frizzled, and Secretin. GPCRs participate in most major physiological functions, contributing to the fact that they are important targets in drug discovery. READ MORE

3. New approaches to data-driven analysis and enhanced sampling simulations of G protein-coupled receptors
Abstract : Proteins are large biomolecules that carry out specific functions within living organisms. Understanding how proteins function is a massive scientific challenge with a wide area of applications. In particular, by controlling protein function we may develop therapies for many diseases. 4. Characterization and Evolution of Transmembrane Proteins with Focus on G-protein coupled receptors in Pre-vertebrate Species
Abstract : G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are one of the largest protein families in mammals. GPCRs are instrumental for hormonal and neurotransmitter signalling and are important in all major physiological systems of the body. READ MORE

5. Characterization of galanin receptors using chimeric peptides and site-directed mutagenesis
Abstract : Galanin, a 29 (30) amino acid neuropeptide, is found throughout both the central and peripheral nervous systems. It signals via three receptors, GalR1-3, all belonging to the rhodopsin-like G-protein coupled receptors. Galanin and its receptors have been implicated in a vast variety of biological processes.
