1. An Experimental and Theoretical Study of Decentralized Gas Fired Liquid Heating
Abstract : The effects on the energy situation in industry when gas fired liquid heaters replace steam have been determined by energy surveys performed in a brewery and a slaughterhouse, measurements of the performance and emissions from liquid heaters installed in these industries, and theoretical analyses of the potential energy saving. The theoretical study in the first part of the project provides information that allows assessment of the effects on the energy situation, of part or complete conversion to decentralized heating, under the conditions prevailing in the industries concerned. 2. Catalytic conversion of biomass-derived synthesis gas to liquid fuels
Abstract : Climate change is one of the biggest global threats of the 21st century. Fossil fuels constitute by far the most important energy source for transportation and the different governments are starting to take action to promote the use of cleaner fuels. READ MORE

3. Biomass to Biofuel : Syngas Cleaning and Biomass Feedstock
Abstract : This thesis builds around the idea of a biofuel production process that is comprised of biomass production, biomass gasification, gas cleaning, and fuel production. In this work, we specifically looked into H2S removal as a part of cleaning the producer gas and flocculation of microalgae which is involved in the harvesting of microalgae after biomass production. 4. Renewable gas in a Swedish context
Abstract : In order to increase the use of sustainable energy in Sweden, it is necessary to substitute fossil energy carriers with renewable counterparts. Synthetic natural gas (SNG) produced from renewable resources via biomass gasification and methanation could replace a proportion of the natural gas used in Sweden. READ MORE

5. Conversion of Biomass to Renewable Liquid Feedstocks in Pyrolysis-based Applications
Abstract : The production of chemicals and fuels currently rely on fossil resources which are associated with global warming as well as economic and political instabilities. The demand for renewable alternatives is increasing as legislations on greenhouse gas emissions are becoming more stringent. READ MORE
