  1. 1. The Nucleus 59Cu - Complex Structure, Shape Evolution, Exotic Decay Modes

    Author : Corina Andreoiu; Fysiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kondenserade materiens egenskaper:elektronstruktur; spectroscopy; relaxation; magnetic resonance; supraconductors; Ge detectors; gamma-ray spectroscopy; charged particle detectors; level scheme; superdeformation; Cranched Nilsson-Strutinsky approach; gamma decay-out mechanism; prompt proton decay; Condensed matter:electronic structure; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; magnetic and optical properties; electrical; egenskaper elektriska; magnetiska och optiska ; supraledare; magnetisk resonans; spektroskopi; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Andreoiu;

    Abstract : High-spin states in the mass A~60 region were populated using the state-of-art gamma-ray spectrometers Gammasphere, Euroball, and GASP in conjunction with dedicated ancillary detectors. In particular, the 59Cu nucleus was studied in several experiments, and a very extensive level scheme was determined. READ MORE

  2. 2. Characterisation of the Neutron Wall and of Neutron Interactions in Germanium-Detector Systems

    Author : Joa Ljungvall; Johan Nyberg; Andres Gadea; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; High-purity Ge detectors; Liquid scintillator detectors; Neutron scattering; Digital electronics; Time-of-flight technique; Pulse-shape simulation and analysis; Monte Carlo simulations; Geant4; Gamma-ray tracking; AGATA; Neutron Wall; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik;

    Abstract : A Monte Carlo simulation of the Neutron Wall detector system has been performed using Geant4, in order to define optimum conditions for the detection and identification of multiple neutrons. Emphasis was put on studying the scattering of neutrons between different detectors, which is the main source of the apparent increase of the number of detected neutrons. READ MORE

  4. 4. Near-infrared photodetectors based on Si/SiGe nanostructures

    Author : Anders Elfving; Wei-Xin Ni; Thomas P. Pearsall; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SiGe; Ge dots; nanostructures; molecular beam epitaxy; photodetector; Semiconductor physics; Halvledarfysik;

    Abstract : Two types of photodetectors containing Ge/Si quantum dots have been fabricated based on materials grown by molecular beam epitaxy and characterized with several experimental techniques. The aim was to study new device architectures with the implementation of Ge nanostructures, in order to obtain high detection efficiency in the near infrared range at room temperature. READ MORE
