    Abstract : Vid analys av vattenprover tagna från t.ex. ett vattendrag betäms halten av olika ämnen. Dessa halter är ofta beroende av vattenföringen. READ MORE

  3. 3. Quantitative methods for diffusion measurements in fluorescence microscopy

    Author : Marco Longfils; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cross-validation.; single particle tracking; Confocal laser scanning microscopy; raster scan; correlation spectroscopy; mixture models; diffusion;

    Abstract : In this work, statistical methods are developed for mapping mass transport locally based on images collected using a confocal laser scanning microscope. Besides presenting raster image correlation spectroscopy as an established method in fluorescence microscopy, we introduce a single particle tracking method which takes advantage of the raster scanning of the image in a confocal microscope. 4. 4. Experimental validation and numerical upscaling of linear network models for simulation of paper

    Author : Morgan Görtz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bending; paper model; multiscale; network model; local orthogonal decomposition; paper simulation;

    Abstract : Paper modeling results in complex geometries that lead to enormous numerical problems. The complexity lies in the material's microstructure. Individual paper fibers must be considered for useful material simulations in paper development, where wood composition and other fiber-based parameters are essential. READ MORE

  5. 5. Towards Precision Medicine: Exploiting Genetic Variation in Tumours by Inferring Multitype Gene Regulatory Networks

    Author : Tobias Abenius; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURAL SCIENCES; precision medicine; survival; cancer; gene regulatory networks; high-dimensional data; LASSO; Reproducible research; Generalized Pairwise Fused LASSO; Split Bregman;

    Abstract : Precision medicine aims to customize treatment to a patient given measured genetic or other molecular data for diagnostics. In cancer, optimal medical treatment, depends on how far the disease has progressed, type and subtype of cancer and, the individual tumor’s circumstances. READ MORE
