21. Bipolar electrochemistry for high throughput screening applications
Abstract : Bipolar electrochemistry is an interesting concept for high throughput screening techniques due to the ability to induce gradients in a range of materials and their properties, such as composition, particle size, or dopant levels, among many others. One of the key advantages of the method is the ability to test, create or modify materials without the need for a direct electrical connection. READ MORE

22. Alloy Plasmonics - Fundamentals and Applications
Abstract : Alloys have for a long time been important in the development of our society; from the Bronze Age, where man learned how to alloy copper with tin, to today, where many products are made of steel and aluminum alloys. Similarly, but maybe not as generally well known, alloys have lately been proposed as a new paradigm in nanophotonics, to tailor optical properties of nanomaterials that find applications within telecommunication, sensing, or biotechnology. 23. Development and Use of Optical Sensors in Modern Analytical Chemistry
Abstract : A successful long-term high resolution imaging experiment in marine sediments was performed (17 days within the sample; Paper I). The time correlated calibration procedure was evolved to include parametric sigmoidal and logarithmic functions to provide three of the best performing (optical) pH sensors available up to date (Papers II, III and IV), precision of these sensors were in the 0. 24. Theoretical studies of a nanoparticle bridge platform for molecular electronics measurements
Abstract : The main focus of this thesis is the theoretical investigations of a nanogap platform used for molecular electronics measurements under ambient conditions. The nanogap is about 20 nm wide, while the molecules investigated here (octanethiol(OT) and octanedithiol(ODT)) are about 1-1.5 nm long making it impossible to bridge the gap with one molecule. 25. Fabrication, functionalization and electrical conductance modulation of nanoparticle based molecular electronic Nano-devices
Abstract : Over the years many techniques have been proposed for the purpose of the formation of electrically conducting metal-molecule-metal junctions. One such technique utilizes gold-nanoparticles (AuNPs) that could assist in contacting small molecules between large gaps. READ MORE
