  1. 1. On treatment of medial gonarthrosis

    Author : Ingemar Ivarsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : This study, comprising 7 separate papers, is concerned with treatment of medial gonarthrosis.Results after high tibial osteotomy were found to deteriorate 8-9 years after surgery. The best results were seen in knees with preoperative Stage I or II osteoarthrosis and valgus deviation after osteotomy. READ MORE

  2. 2. Osteotomy for gonarthrosis - with special reference to the tibial callus distraction technique

    Author : Göran Magyar; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; radiostereometry; radiography; arthroplasty; complications; coating; hydroxyapatite; external fixator; femoral osteotomy; hemicallotasis; Knee osteoarthritis; tibial osteotomy; Surgery; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Abstract : Osteotomy is used for correction of the altered load on the gonarthrotic knee joint. It can be performed above or below the knee. Clinical results depend on the correction after bone healing. READ MORE

  3. 3. Fixation and load in total knee arthroplasty : a clinical, radiographic, radiostereometric and gait study

    Author : Maria B Hilding; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : total knee arthroplasty; tibial component loosening; radiostereometric analysis RSA ; alignment; gait analysis; joint loading; flexionmoments; Nottingham Health Profile.;

    Abstract : The treatment of severe gonarthrosis by total knee arthroplasty is generally successful, but tibial component loosening remains a problem. The aim in the present work was to investigate if any association between loading and insufficient tibial component fixation could be found, and if the fixation was affected by the tibial component design differences. 4. 4. Clinical and radiographic outcome of meniscectomy and meniscus repair in the stable knee

    Author : Peter Rockborn; Thomas Fridén; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Arthroscopy; Meniscectomy; Meniscus Repair; Follow-up; Arthrosis; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Increasing knowledge about the function of the meniscus and arthroscopy have made meniscus surgery more conservative. Arthroscopy was developed during the 70's and enabled the surgeon to select the most appropriate and tissue conserving therapy for a meniscus lesion. READ MORE

  5. 5. Total knee arthroplasty : Alternative aspects on fixation, design and postoperative treatment

    Author : Gunnar Adalberth; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Total knee arthroplasty; RSA; migration; all-polyethylene; drainage; cement; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; Orthopaedics; ortopedi;

    Abstract : Total knee arthroplasty as a treatment of severe gonarthrosis has become a great success, but tibial component loosening is still a major reason for failure. When total knee arthroplasty was introduced, only all-polyethylene (AP) tibial components were available. READ MORE
