  1. 1. Complexes and Diffrerential Graded Modules

    Author : Dmitri Apassov; Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten); []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; algebraic geometry; field theory; Number Theory; fiber of a local homomorphism; DG dualizing module; homological dimensions; differential graded rings; almost finite module; Cohen-Macaulay rings; local homomorphism; Gorenstein rings; annihilator; complex of modules; algebra; group theory; Talteori; fältteori; algebraisk geometri; gruppteori;

    Abstract : The main topic of the thesis is the generalization of some traditional module-theoretic homological applications to complexes of modules and to differential graded modules over differential graded rings. We introduce three possible generalizations of the classical notion of annihilator of an R-module. READ MORE

  2. 2. Tautological Rings of Moduli Spaces of Curves

    Author : Mehdi Tavakol; Carel Faber; Gavril Farkas; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK;

    Abstract : The purpose of this thesis is to study tautological rings of moduli spaces of curves. The moduli spaces of curves play an important role in algebraic geometry. The study of algebraic cycles on these spaces was started by Mumford. He introduced the notion of tautological classes on moduli spaces of curves. READ MORE

  3. 3. Lefschetz properties and Jordan types of Artinian algebras

    Author : Nasrin Altafi; Mats Boij; Martina Juhnke-Kubitzke; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Lefschetz properties; Jordan type; Hilbert function; Artinian algebra; Gorenstein algebra; Hessian;

    Abstract : This thesis contains six papers concerned with studying the Lefschetz properties and Jordan types of linear forms for graded Artinian algebras. Lefschetz properties and Jordan types carry information about the ranks of multiplication maps by linear forms on graded Artinian algebras. READ MORE

  4. 4. Graded lie algebras in local algebra and rational homotopy

    Author : Rikard Bøgvad; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of three papers, [A – C]The old conjecture that Poincaré-series of local noetherian rings are rational was disproved by Anick in 1979. Building upon his counter-example, as analyzed by Löfwall-Roos, I construct a Gorenstein ring with transcendental Poincaré-series; by a method of Roos this also gives a manifold whose loopspace has transcendental Poinaré-Betti series.
