6. A comprehensive study of resistor-loaded planar dipole antennas for ground penetrating radar applications
Abstract : Ground penetrating radar (GPR) systems are increasingly being used for the detection and location of buried objects within the upper regions of the earth’s surface. The antenna is the most critical component of such a system. READ MORE

7. Estimation of snow wetness using multi-offset ground penetrating radar : towards more accurate estimates of snow water equivalent
Abstract : Measurements of snow water equivalent (SWE) constitute an important input to hydrological models used to predict snowmelt runoffs. The new generation of such models use distributed snow data, including distribution of SWE, as input, and rely on it for calibration and validation. READ MORE

8. Improving snow water equivalent estimates with ground penetrating radar by measuring on multiple channels
Abstract : Snow water equivalent (SWE) of a snowpack is often measured along well-chosen transects representative of an area of interest, such as a drainage basin, to capture spatial distribution of SWE, which is of great interest for many applications. For example, it is a useful input to the new generation of hydrological models used for snow melt run-off predictions. READ MORE

9. Dynamics of the cold surface layer of polythermal Storglaciären, Sweden
Abstract : Polythermal glaciers, i.e. glaciers with a combination of ice at and below the freezing point, are widespread in arctic and subarctic environments. The polythermal structure has major implications for glacier hydrology, ice flow and glacial erosion. READ MORE

10. Characterization of Hydrogeological Media Using Electromagnetic Geophysics
Abstract : Radio magnetotellurics (RMT), crosshole ground penetrating radar (GPR), and crosshole electrical resistance tomography (ERT) were applied in a range of hydrogeological applications where geophysical data could improve hydrogeological characterization. A profile of RMT data collected over highly resistive granite was used to map subhorizontal fracture zones below 300m depth, as well as a steeply dipping fracture zone, which was also observed on a coinciding seismic reflection profile.
