  1. 16. Degradation of rock and shotcrete due to ice pressure and frost shattering

    Author : Anna Andrén; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mining and Rock Engineering; Gruv- och berganläggningsteknik;

    Abstract : In recent years the Swedish Rail Administration has observed an increased incidence of shotcrete and rock fall-outs in its tunnels, for which reason it has initiated several research projects, of which the present project entitled "Degradation of rock and shotcrete due to ice pressure and frost shattering" is one. The aim of this licentiate project was to bring together experience and information relating to ice formation and the effect of ice pressure on fault zones, cracks and, in particular, the shotcrete/rock interface. 2. 17. Cost management for underground infrastructure projects : a case study on cost increase and its causes

    Author : Peter Lundman; Stuart D. Green; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mining and Rock Engineering; Gruv- och Berganläggningsteknik;

    Abstract : Extensive investments in infrastructure for transportation are currently being carried out in Sweden. A substantial part consists of underground road- and railway projects. READ MORE

  3. 18. Behaviour and stability of shallow underground constructions

    Author : Jimmy Töyrä; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mining and Rock Engineering; Gruv- och Berganläggningsteknik;

    Abstract : The growing needs of urbanization, like more transport possibilities, sewers, maintenance tunnels, the need of constructing shallow tunnels increase. By a better understanding of the mechanical properties and state of stress in the shallow parts of the bedrock it may be possible to determine which factors that are of importance at a specific construction site, and thereby increase the cost efficiency of pre-investigations and the tunnel construction. 4. 19. Waste rock content variations during gravity flow in sublevel caving : analysis of full-scale experiments and numerical simulations

    Author : Peter Gustafsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mining and Rock Engineering; Gruv- och Berganläggningsteknik;

    Abstract : När man lastar i en skivrasgruva så märker man ofta att gråbergshalten varierar på ett oregelbundet sätt. Denna variation är oönskad på grund av att den leder till gråbergsinblandning och malmförluster. READ MORE

  5. 20. Strength, fallouts and numerical modelling of hard rock masses

    Author : Catrin Edelbro; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mining and Rock Engineering; Gruv- och berganläggningsteknik;

    Abstract : The prediction of compressive stress-induced failures is of concern for the design and construction of deep underground excavations in mining and civil engineering. An overstressed rock mass may result in fallouts of rock, which may cause occupational safety hazards, damage of equipment, and/or production disturbances. READ MORE
