  1. 1. Lithium formate EPR dosimetry for accurate measurements of absorbed dose in radiotherapy

    Author : Emelie Adolfsson; Åsa Carlsson Tedgren; Eva Lund; Håkan Gustafsson; Sara Olsson; Gudrun Alm Carlsson; Peter Sharpe; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Lithium formate has shown to be a material with properties suitable for electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) dosimetry, among them up to 7 times higher sensitivity compared to alanine, which is a well-established EPR detector material for dose determinations in radiotherapy.The aim of this thesis was to further investigate the properties of lithium formate and develop the dosimetry system towards applications in radiotherapy. 2. 2. Sensory impairment of the upper limb after stroke: influence on daily life and effects of a novel training approach

    Author : Håkan Carlsson; Rehabilitering och hållbar hälsa; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Stroke; Upper limb; Sensory impairments; Rehabilitation; Qualitative research; Activities of daily living; Dexterity;

    Abstract : Abstract: Sensory impairments in the upper limb are common after stroke. Different sensory modalities can be affected such as sense of touch, pressure, pain, temperature and proprioception. The sensory impairments can negatively affect motor function, dexterity and the ability to perform daily activities. READ MORE

  3. 3. Inertial Sensor Arrays : Sensor Fusion and Calibration

    Author : Håkan Carlsson; Joakim Jaldén; Thomas Seel; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Motion estimation using inertial sensors is today used in a wide range of applications, from aircraft navigation to inflatable bicycle helmets. The accuracy with which the motion can be estimated using inertial sensors depends on how large the measurement errors are. READ MORE

  4. 4. Mechanistic Studies of Dinuclear Metalloenzymes - A Model Approach

    Author : Håkan Carlsson; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; models; Enzymes; bioinorganic chemistry; dinuclear; urease; nickel; zinc triphosphoesterase; Oorganisk kemi; Inorganic chemistry;

    Abstract : With the goal to study the mechanisms of dinuclear metalloenzymes, a new line of synthetic and computational models were prepared and studied. Mixed imidazole and carboxylate multidentate complexes were synthesized to better simulate carboxylate-rich ligand environments. READ MORE
