26. In-Between Brands : Exploring the Essence of Brand Portfolio Management
Abstract : During the past two decades research has shown that brands are among a company’s most valuable assets. However, in today’s competitive landscape, it is not enough to just create strong brands. The focus lies rather in managing a range of brand lever-age strategies within complex brand portfolios. 27. A Differentiable Approach to Stochastic Differential Equations : the Smoluchowski Limit Revisited
Abstract : In this thesis we generalize results by Smoluchowski [43], Chandrasekhar[6], Kramers, and Nelson [30]. Their aim is to construct Brownian motion as a limit of stochastic processes with differentiable sample paths by exploiting a scaling limit which is a particular type of averaging studied by Papanicolao [35]. 28. Characterization of Small Antennas & Wireless Devices for MIMO Systems in Rich Isotropic Multipath & Random Line-of-Sight
Abstract : The current thesis is about over-the-air (OTA) performance characterization of wireless terminals in rich isotropic multipath (RIMP) environment as well as in pure line-of-sight (LOS) environment while not ignoring the random positions and orientations of the mobile terminals due to randomness of the user. The latest mobile wireless terminals such as iPhone and iPad can be used in any random position and orientation thereby making the received LOS-component toappear as a random voltage at the antenna ports. 29. Design of programmable multi-standard baseband processors
Abstract : Efficient programmable baseband processors are important to enable true multi-standard radio platforms as convergence of mobile communication devices and systems requires multi-standard processing devices. The processors do not only need the capability to handle differences in a single standard, often there is a great need to cover several completely different modulation methods such as OFDM and CDMA with the same processing device.
