1. Mechanism of enzymes involved in leukotriene C4 biosynthesis
Abstract : Cysteinyl leukotrienes (cys-LTs) are potent proinflammatory mediators associated with various diseases including asthma and allergic rhinitis. Leukotriene C4 synthase (LTC4S) and microsomal glutathione transferase 2 (MGST2) catalyze conjugation of the epoxide intermediate LTA4 with GSH to form LTC4, the parent compound of the cys-LTs. 3. Studies on Cell Injury Induced by Hypoxia-Reoxygenation and Oxidized Low Density Lipoprotein : With Special Reference to the Protectiove Effect of Mixed Tocopherols, Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Transforming Growth Factor-beta1
Abstract : Hypoxia-reoxygenation (H-R) injury is an important clinical phenomenon in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Endothelial injury is a critical step in the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis. Therefore, endothelial and cardiomyocyte protection has been considered an effective step in prevention and treatment of CAD. READ MORE

4. Redox-regulation of PTPs : mechanisms and impact on PDGFR signaling
Abstract : Protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs) are reversibly oxidized upon activation of platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta (PDGFβR). Dys-regulation of the PDGFβR signaling pathway is associated with several diseases, including cancers and cardiovascular disease, and is thus a known driver of disease progression. READ MORE

5. Contributions to certain problems in algebraic topology
Abstract : We consider two problems. The first one is to determine when a fibration is also a (homotopy) cofibration. We use a classic result of T. Ganea to give a complete algebraic solution. READ MORE
