  1. 1. NOx Storage and Reduction Catalysts. Reduction with Hydrogen and the Influence of Water and Carbon Dioxide

    Author : Anna Maria Lindholm; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NSR catalyst; Pt Ba Al; H2O; CO2; Pt Al; NOx reduction; H2; NH3 formation; NOx storage; Lean NOx Trap; N2O formation; kinetic modeling; Pt Si;

    Abstract : Environmental concern has increased over the past several years and resulted in stringent emission legislation on NOx, CO, and hydrocarbon emissions from automobile exhausts. Moreover, the demands to improve the fuel efficiency of engines and to lower the CO2 emissions have increased, and a way to meet this is by using lean burn engines which operate with oxygen excess. 2. 2. High Temperature Corrosion of Stainless Steels in Low Oxygen Activity Environments -The effect of H2 and H2O

    Author : Hamed Hoseini Hooshyar; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; pre-oxidation; chromia former; H2O; High Temperature Corrosion; alumina former; H2;

    Abstract : Gasification of biomass and waste is promising for reducing the use of fossil fuels. While the operation conditions of superheaters and gas coolers in the gasifier are restricted by gas-side corrosion, scientific investigations are very scarce in this field. READ MORE

  3. 3. Catalytic formation of ammonia from nitric oxide

    Author : Emma Adams; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NOx reduction; Passive-SCR; In situ characterisation; Environmental heterogeneous catalysis; Ammonia formation;

    Abstract : The emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from automobiles results in severe environmental and biological effects. Passive selective catalytic reduction (passive SCR) of NOx with ammonia (NH3) is a proposed method for abatement of NOx emissions in net lean-burn gasoline passenger vehicles. READ MORE

  4. 4. Molecular gas in the galaxy M83 : Its distribution, kinematics, and relation to star formation

    Author : Andreas Andersson Lundgren; Hans Olofsson; John Whiteoak; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular gas; Galaxies; Galaxies individual: M83; Star formation; Galactic dynamics; Astronomy and astrophysics; Astronomi och astrofysik;

    Abstract : The barred spiral galaxy M83 (NGC5236) has been observed in the 12CO J=1–0 and J=2–1 millimetre lines with the Swedish-ESO Submillimetre Telescope (SEST). The sizes of the CO maps are 100×100, and they cover the entire optical disk. The CO emission is strongly peaked toward the nucleus. READ MORE

  5. 5. Catalyst Deactivation by Coke Formation in Acetylene Hydrogenation

    Author : Staffan Asplund; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; preparative liquid chromatography; gross error detection; acetylene hydrogenation; coke deposition; coke formation; catalyst deactivation;

    Abstract : Several aspects of catalyst deactivation have been studied with reference toselective acetylene hydrogenation, a reaction used industrially to purify ethylene from unwanted acetylene. A mathematical model has been developed for an industrial packed-bed reactor, employing a supported Pd catalyst. READ MORE
